Description
:
Manages the day-to-day operations of a large university programor department, including the supervision of staff employees,student workers, programs or processes.
1. Plans and develops procedures for administering a large orcomplex department or program.
2. Manages fiscal activities, including procurement and budgetanalysis.
3. Provides guidance to subordinate staff and evaluates performance.
4. Prepares abstracts, research reports, funding proposals,operations and procedure manuals, and other written material and documentation.
5. Creates and reviews reports of expenditures and activities.
6. May administer grants and grant-related relatedcommunications, scholarships and other operations.
7. Develops, implements and maintains appropriate policies and procedures.
8. May serve as property custodian for the department.
9. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
MQ:
Education:
Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree froma college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed.
Experience:
Requires a minimum of one (1) year of directly job-related experience.

- Assisting with the coordination and oversight of daily maintenance operations.
- Supervising and supporting maintenance personnel to ensure productivity, safety, and compliance with established procedures.
- Monitoring work order assignments, progress, and completion to improve service delivery and response times.
- Supporting the planning and execution of preventive maintenance schedules to reduce equipment downtime and extend asset life.
- Assisting with workforce scheduling, resource allocation, and operational prioritization.
- Ensuring adherence to university policies, safety regulations, and maintenance standards.
- Providing operational support for facility emergencies andurgent maintenance issues.
- Assisting with employee training, performance management, and professional development initiatives.
- Developing and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and service quality.
- Performing additional management and technical duties as outlined in the position description.
Work Schedule:
This position is scheduled to work Monday through
Friday from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM. Additional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, may be required to support operational demands, special events, and departmental needs.
