Job Description:
- The Assembler is responsible for assembling, testing, inspecting, and packaging manufactured products by following work instructions, production drawings, schematics, and engineering specifications.
- This role requires attention to detail, adherence to quality and safety standards, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Read and follow work instructions, work orders, production drawings, sample assemblies, and verbal instructions.
- Interpret assembly instructions, drawings, schematics, and engineering specifications to assemble and test quality products.
- Assemble product components using hand tools, power tools, machines, and other equipment.
- Completely assemble, test, and package products built on the production line.
- Disassemble and repair products returned by customers as required.
- Set up moderate to semi-complex test equipment to measure and record assembly conformance to specifications.
- Set up test stands with appropriate plumbing for pneumatic and hydrostatic testing per product specifications.
- Complete required test documentation, including test reports.
- Inspect and document materials, heat numbers, components, subassemblies, and specifications to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Complete inspection documentation, including marking of heat numbers and nameplates.
- Participate in Lean events and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Report unsafe acts or conditions to supervision immediately.
- Basic computer experience.
- Ability to perform basic math including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Experience following safety and quality standards.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work quickly, accurately, and independently.
- Professional, positive attitude with openness to change and continuous improvement.
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Minimum of one year of related experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Experience in assembly or testing of manufactured products such as oil and gas equipment, automotive repair, appliance assembly or repair, or electronic device assembly or repair.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
- Experience assembling and testing products such as relief valves, chemical injection pumps, control, dump, check or butterfly valves, and liquid level controllers or switches.
- Experience in high-mix, high-volume manufacturing environments.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision while meeting quality and productivity standards.
- Experience with manufacturing line setup and documentation.
- Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings and Bills of Material.
- Experience safely operating assembly, testing, hand, and power tools.
