Responsibilities also include:
* Oversee the Machine Shop operations and processing; ensuring work is performed to meet specifications.
* Lead Machine Shop personnel by motivating, mentoring, scheduling and addressing issues or concerns.
* Train and coordinate training for new employees.
* Perform and/or organize maintenance needs of equipment and machinery.
* Perform various daily machining duties as required.
* Operate and program CNC Lathes and Mills, and other machines as required.
* Support all functions of operation of all Manual Lathes.
* Manage staff based on production requirements.
* Ensure schedules and deadlines are met.
* Measure performance and KPI development.
* Maintain contact with all departments to ensure machining needs are met.
* Order tools and consumables needed for daily operation.
* Work closely with in all areas of operations to align priorities and increase efficiencies in all responsible areas.
* Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
* Travel to US operating regions as needed.
* Assist other departments with various projects when time permits.
* Perform all duties so as to meet the responsibilities listed in the Employee and Corporate HSE Handbooks.
* Perform duties according to the Company's quality system procedures and work instructions.
Qualifications:
* 3-5 years in a machine shop supervisory role
* Machinist certification or 10 years of equivalent experience and minimum of 5 years of experience in programing of CNC Lathes, Manual Lathes and Mills
* Engineering drawings interpretation including dimensions and tolerances
* Organized, detail-oriented, and analytical
* Excellent verbal, written communication skills and computer skills
* QAQC background is considered an asset
As a safety sensitive position, this role requires functional English skills (reading, writing, listening, and comprehension) for:
* Proper understanding of one's job, safety-related training, alerts, policies, procedures, and instructions
* Reading and understanding all corporate-related compliance documents, procedures and policies
* Communicating effectively with colleagues and supervisors
* Effective and safe performance of one's job-related tasks
