Location: Northeast Houston, TX

Pay: $25.00 per hour

Shift: 3:00 PM – 1:30 AM | 5–6 Days per Week

Overtime: Paid After 40 Hours

A growing metals manufacturing company in Northeast Houston is seeking a Production Floor Supervisor for second shift operations. This is an opportunity for a motivated, hands‑on leader who thrives in fast‑paced production environments and takes pride in building accountable, high‑performing teams.

Reporting to the Senior Production Supervisor, you will oversee evening operations and play a critical role in maintaining safety, productivity, and quality standards. Your leadership will directly influence shift performance, employee development, and overall operational success.

Schedule Details
  • Arrive at 2:00 PM for the 2:30 PM production meeting.
  • Shift hours: 3:00 PM – 1:30 AM.
  • 5–6 days per week.
  • Overtime paid after 40 hours.
Position Overview

This is a working supervisor role. You will actively support production operations while leading the team. Approximately half of the shift involves operating a sit‑down propane forklift, with the majority of time spent on the production floor and a smaller portion dedicated to reporting and administrative duties.

The role requires consistent physical activity, including standing, walking, bending, and lifting materials up to 75 pounds throughout 10–12 hour shifts. The supervisor must also comply with all safety protocols, including respirator requirements and end‑of‑shift hygiene procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead second‑shift production operations including mill work, decoiling, roll‑up, saw operations, packaging, and scrap handling.
  • Ensure compliance with Environmental, Safety, and Health policies and Quality Management System standards.
  • Perform and document daily inspections for forklifts, cranes, and respirators.
  • Support production flow and ensure output goals are achieved.
  • Coordinate production schedules and priorities with senior leadership.
  • Maintain quality standards and delivery timelines.
  • Monitor attendance, labor utilization, and break compliance.
  • Complete daily production and operations reports.
  • Track inventory levels and document material needs.
  • Conduct weekly inventory counts and maintain accurate records.
  • Adjust staffing levels based on operational needs.
  • Train, coach, and provide performance feedback.
  • Support hiring and employee development efforts.
  • Implement corrective actions when necessary.
  • Maintain high standards for housekeeping and facility safety.
  • Oversee end‑of‑shift documentation and facility security.
  • Shower at the end of each shift before leaving the facility.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 3–5 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing or production.
  • Sit‑down propane forklift experience required.
  • Overhead crane experience preferred.
  • Ability to wear a respirator for most of the shift.
  • Must be clean‑shaven to ensure proper respirator fit.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Basic math skills and ability to read a tape measure.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations.
  • Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, production‑driven environment.
Pre-Employment Requirements
  • Candidates must successfully complete background checks (city, state, and national) and drug screening in accordance with applicable regulations.
