Valve Modification Shop Superintendent
Salary: $100-130K, Direct Hire
Location:
Northwest Houston
Supervisor: CEO
Role OverviewSeeking an experienced Valve Machine Shop Director to oversee operations, manage a team, ensure project quality, and maintain efficient operations. Requires technical expertise, leadership, and communication skills. The ideal candidate has deep knowledge of valve processes and troubleshooting abilities.

Key Responsibilities- Manage day-to-day valve shop operations, including CNC and manual machines.
- Extensive valve knowledge in disassembling, assembling and testing.
- Oversee all operations from the moment order is received to when it is shipped.
- Supervise Shipping Manager and Fabrication Leader for workflow efficiency.
- Knowledge of gate, globe, ball, and check valves.
- Maintain quality standards, adhere to regulations, and meet customer requirements.
- Provide technical guidance, troubleshoot machine issues, and optimize performance.
- Responsible for hiring, firing, giving performance reviews of all shop employees.
- Collaborate with departments to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
- Travel to customer sites for project assessment and technical support.
- Train staff, manage inventory, and oversee equipment maintenance.
- Report shop performance to CEO and address any concerns.
- Uphold company values and foster a positive work environment.
- Preferred Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant experience.
- Leadership experience in manufacturing, preferably in the valve industry.
- Hands‑on CNC and manual machine experience with troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication, problem‑solving, and multitasking abilities.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations.
- Willingness to travel and commitment to safety and quality.
- Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement is a plus.
