Job Summary

The Manufacturing Engineer partners closely with plant operations to improve and maximize productivity across Assembly and Machining departments. Reporting to the Plant Manager, this role supports continuous improvement initiatives, cost reduction efforts, and new product launches, ensuring a smooth transition from design to manufacturing while maintaining safety, quality, and efficiency standards.

Key Responsibilities

The Manufacturing Engineer proposes, coordinates, and implements projects focused on safety, quality, cost reduction, continuous improvement, and new product development. This role owns site cost‑out improvement processes, identifies opportunities to improve manufacturing productivity, and trains project owners on lean and statistical tools. Responsibilities include evaluating manufacturing solutions, performing methods studies, solving production issues, and supporting processes related to sheet metal fabrication (stamping, bending, welding, powder coating), machining, and electrical assembly.

The engineer partners with design teams to ensure manufacturability, recommends new equipment and technologies, prepares capital appropriations, and develops operational procedures, routings, and production standards. This role also leads lean manufacturing initiatives (Kaizen, 5S, Six Sigma), partners with EHS to ensure machine guarding and electrical safety compliance, champions designated MESH categories, owns capital appropriation requests, and administers the Management of Change process for product and process launches.

Education & Experience

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 3 years of manufacturing experience supporting operations/production
  • Minimum 3 years of Continuous Improvement and Six Sigma experience
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
  • Hands‑on experience in assembly, machining, sheet metal, fabrication, or maintenance environments
