Aerotek is seeking an CNC Machinist Job Description

The Machinist will be responsible for machining new and repair parts to print specifications. The primary focus will be operating a Toshiba VTL with Fanuc controls, featuring live tooling. This role involves working with large control flow valves, typically ranging from 40-60" in outer diameter, and occasionally reaching up to 160". The parts can weigh between 1,000 to 10,000 lbs. The Machinist will set up and operate the machine, making necessary edits and ensuring precision with tolerances down to ±0.001.

The shop processes a variety of materials, including carbon steel, stainless steel, Inconel, and Stellite 1-6.

Responsibilities
  • Operate a Toshiba VTL with Fanuc controls and live tooling.
  • Machine large control flow valves, ensuring precision to ±0.001.
  • Set up and operate machinery, making edits as necessary.
  • Handle parts weighing from 1,000 lbs to 10,000 lbs.
  • Work with materials such as carbon steel, stainless steel, Inconel, and Stellite.
Essential Skills
  • 5+ years of experience as a VTL Machinist.
  • 2+ years of Mill experience.
  • Proficiency with Fanuc controls.
  • Experience performing setups and edits.
  • Ability to machine large parts with precision.
Additional

Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with Toshiba VTL, live tooling, and various control systems like Mazatrol and Tosnuc.
  • Ability to calculate speeds and feeds for milling and drilling.
  • Knowledge of G code programming, including G01, G17, G81, G90, G91, M03, M05, M02, M08, M09, and M00.
  • Ability to convert millimeters to inches.

Work Environment

The position is based in a clean, air-conditioned shop. There are two shifts available: a night shift from 6pm-6am, Monday through Saturday, and a day shift from 6am-6pm. The schedule consists of 13 days on, followed by 1 day off.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $56,000.00 - $75,000.00/yr. Multiple health plans to choose from: HMO, PPO, and High Deductible Health Plans with a low-cost share.
