Operations Manager (ISO 9001 Certified Facility Exp Req) Description
Our client is seeking an Operations Manager to lead their gearbox assembly center in North Houston. This role oversees daily operations within a 37,000 sq. ft. facility supporting six assembly lines and light machining, ensuring production targets, material flow, and operational performance are consistently achieved. The ideal candidate brings hands‑on experience managing an ISO 9001 certified facility, leading production teams, and driving efficiency within multi‑stage assembly environments.

- Oversee daily operations of a 37,000 sq. ft. gearbox assembly facility
- Maintain and reinforce ISO 9001 compliant manufacturing standards
- Plan and schedule production to ensure assembly lines are staged and prepared daily
- Lead daily production meetings to review targets, output, and priorities
- Ensure assembly lines operate efficiently and resolve workflow disruptions in real time
- Address parts readiness, capacity planning, space utilization, and equipment challenges
- Oversee incoming inventory, internal transfers, line replenishment, packing, and shipping
- Coordinate supply chain activities with international parent company to maintain material flow
- Monitor and report on output, downtime, variances, scrap, and key performance metrics
- Lead, develop, and hold accountable a team of approximately 35 employees
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and scalability
- Support integration of automation into assembly operations
- Provide operational leadership during extended production hours when required
- 3+ years of experience managing an ISO 9001 certified facility is required
- Proven team management experience in a manufacturing environment is required
- Experience with multi‑stage product assembly operations is required
- Ability to support operations until 6PM or 7PM when overtime is needed, is required
- Strong decision‑making and problem‑solving skills in fast‑paced environments is required
