The Industrial Electrician will be responsible for reading blueprints, diagnosing electrical problems, and repairing electrical systems. This role involves both manual labor and technical proficiency, with responsibilities growing as the apprentice gains skill and experience. Adherence to safety protocols, including OSHA regulations, is mandatory.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES- Perform manual processes to complete mechanical and electrical assemblies and sub-assemblies, using hand tools, and electric and pneumatic tools.
- Report defective material or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
- Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.
- Complete tasks as directed by manufacturing schedule with minimum supervision.
- Bendconduitand pull wire.
- Perform control wiring and MCC wiring.
- Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems.
- Adhere to OSHA safety standards, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe work practices to prevent electrical hazards.
- Implement and follow company safety policies, conducting regular safety checks and reporting any safety concerns to the supervisor.
- Participate in safety training sessions and ensure all safety protocols are followed to maintain a safe working environment.
- Maintain a clean work area and follow 5S basics.
- Ability tofollowmethods and procedures.
- Familiarity with assembly and measuring tools, interpretation of visual aids and ability to perform simple shop math.
- Must have a good command of the English language, both written and verbal.
- Ability to read blueprints and pipe and instrumentation drawing.
- Ability to work autonomously in a fast paced, often changing environment.
- Ability to multi-task over several projects and manage conflicting priorities.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Enrollment in an accredited electrical apprenticeship program.
- 2 – 4 years of experience as a licensed electrician apprentice.
- 3 months of related factory experience.
- Familiarity with safety protocols and procedures.
- Previous experience installing rigid insulation a plus.
- Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with team members.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and practices.
Work performed in a shop environment.
Exposed to any number of elements but with none present to the extent of being disagreeable.
May work at different workstations as production needs require, or shifts from one station to another, during the assembly process.
Physical effort equal to frequent moving of up to 50lbsmaterials.
Regularly required to sit or stand, bend andreach.
The use of Safety Glasses is required.
The use of earplugs is recommended.
Ability to stand up to 10 hours a day (with lunch in between) and up to 6 days aweek.
Ability to work in anon-air-conditioned environment.
Steel-toe boots required in Manufacturing Facility.
