Job Summary

The Maintenance Technician is focused on people, process and/or systems as it pertains to the upkeep and repair of all plant processes, systems, buildings and production equipment. The Technician’s ability to respond using effective mechanical, electrical, process or support systems skills is critical for success in this position. The role also works to eliminate failures that result in downtime, directly impacting the plant’s overall operating availability.

Functions
  • Comply with Company Safety Policies and Procedures.
  • Provide safety leadership in promoting and creating a zero‑injury safety culture.
  • Solve practical mechanical or process problems in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Understand and follow verbal, written, or diagram instructions.
  • Communicate with shift supervisors and other line support regarding maintenance issues.
  • Ensure proper performance of all plant maintenance processes, systems and production equipment through effective planning, troubleshooting and diagnostics skills.
  • Execute preventive maintenance on all plant systems and production equipment to maximize machine uptime.
  • Ensure compliance with all maintenance processes and works being performed.
  • Assist in determining necessary actions to address quality issues on molds, stones, and production equipment.
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards.
  • Conduct Huddle Meetings with Maintenance Techs.
  • Assign work orders to each maintenance tech.
  • Communicate with shift supervisors and all operational support personnel regarding maintenance issues.
  • Keep Maintenance leadership informed of maintenance issues.
  • Generate work orders and close them out in SAP.
  • Follow up and report craftsmanship (Good/Bad) to Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Provide peer coaching discussions to correct issues.
  • Perform at an acceptable level to meet or exceed daily safety, quality and productivity standards.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area to ensure the facility meets department standards.
  • Perform mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
  • Read blueprints and diagrams.
  • Show regular attendance, timeliness and scheduling flexibility.
  • Display knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA) including teamwork, communication, strong organizational skills, basic mathematical calculations, multitasking, customer service, problem solving, independent judgment and attention to detail.
  • Use a computer or keyboard instrument and operate in an SAP environment.
Education And/Or Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and training or certification in a relevant skill or trade.
  • 1–2 years of experience in a relevant field.

Physical Requirements /Work Environment
  • Be exposed to temperature extremes inside or out.
  • Be exposed to sounds or noise levels that may be uncomfortable.
  • Prolong standing or remaining in a stationary position for up to 12 hours during shift work.
  • Perform repetitive movements.
  • Bend or twist.
  • Wear all required personal protective equipment.
  • Work in constant noise above 85 decibels.
  • Handle, control or feel objects, tools or controls.
  • Lift, move or transport items up to 50 pounds.
  • Ascend or descend stairs.
