Our client is a steel distributor and service center with a local presence and global reach catering to companies across the clients in the oil and gas, construction, mining, and machinery industries. Their Houston facility has been in operation for over 20 years.
Job Summary
Their Houston location is seeking a Packager/Inspector to work with the production flow to ensure all parts meet the company quality procedures while following the quality processes
Job Description
- Processing a variety of written and electronic information to complete work orders
- The inspector will clean, package, stage, or load material onto pallets, skids, trucks, or production tables
- Able to use the following tools: hand grinder, tape measure, caliper, framing square, combination square
- Able to read basic 2D drawings
- Ensures that the warehouse and tools are properly maintained to promote safety and operational efficiency
- Participate in safety meetings and training sessions as required by company policy and management
- Promoting safety, quality, operations performance, and continuous improvement throughout the organization
- Follow all company policies regarding the safety and operation of equipment

- 2+ years of experience in a steel warehouse environment or manufacturing setting
- Operate 6K LB forklift
- Must have experience with 5-10 ton overhead cranes
- Read, write, and understand the English language
- Basic computer knowledge
- Ability to operate heavy forklift/overhead cranes
- High School diploma or GED
- Shift
Hours:
3rd Shift, 4:00 pm - 12:30 am
- This is an extremely labor-intensive job
- Non-climate-controlled environment
- Must be able to stand, lift 50lbs+, climb, and perform various other labor-intensive physical functions
- Able to work the night shift
- $21.00 - $23.00/hr. based on experience
