This individual would be working within the Metallography Department performing testing and sample preparation in a variety of areas.

• Performs preparation techniques of Metallurgical mounts such as grinding, cutting, polishing and etching.
• Reads and understands drawings and specifications for correct test requirements, procedures and sampling plans.
• Able to perform Metallurgical examinations per specification and procedure.
• Familiar with equipment in Metallography Laboratory.
• Metallurgical knowledge of Ni, Ti and Fe microstructures is a plus.
• Complies with all environmental safe practices and regulations.
• Has knowledge of MSDS, labeling and storage requirements for chemicals.
• Sufficient computer skills working with Microsoft Suite.
• Adapts to changes in the work environment; manages competing demands; changes approach or method to best fit the situation; able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Metallurgical knowledge is a plus.
• May be required to work overtime, weekends and holidays.
• Must be able to sit and stand for prolonged periods, bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 lbs.
• May be exposed to heat, noise, and humidity.
• Prefer 1-3 years of related experience.
