This individual would be working within the Metallography Department performing testing and sample preparation in a variety of areas.
Duties and Responsibilities- Performs preparation techniques of Metallurgical mounts such as grinding, cutting, polishing and etching.
- Reads and understands drawings and specifications for correct test requirements, procedures and sampling plans.
- Able to perform Metallurgical examinations per specification and procedure.
- Familiar with equipment in Metallography Laboratory.
- Metallurgical knowledge of Ni, Ti and Fe microstructures is a plus.
- Complies with all environmental safe practices and regulations.
- Has knowledge of MSDS, labeling and storage requirements for chemicals.
- Sufficient computer skills working with Microsoft Suite.
- Adapts to changes in the work environment; manages competing demands; changes approach or method to best fit the situation; able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Job Requirements- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Metallurgical knowledge is a plus.
- May be required to work overtime, weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to sit and stand for prolonged periods, bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- May be exposed to heat, noise, and humidity.
- Prefer 1-3 years of related experience.
This position requires use of information or access to production processes subject to national security controls under U.S. export control laws and regulations (including, but not limited to, the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)).
