Essential Duties/Responsibilities- Coordinate the real time operation of the energy management team client generation portfolio.
- Monitor client generation portfolio assets utilizing system dispatch software and commercial tools on a real-time basis.
- Respond to power and gas system emergencies and all real time dispatch deviations from day-ahead scheduled awards.
- Adjust the daily fuel forecast and present balancing transactions to owners for trader execution.
- Update and maintain commercial tools, logs, and operating procedures as required.
- Maximize generation optimization opportunities per owners’ instructions.
- Maintain all training requirements and obtain PJM certification within one year.
- Maintain the assigned position shift schedule including all holiday and weekend coverage requirements.
- Support additional coverage requirements which may include team vacation, sickness, or system emergency responses.
- Travel may be required to meet training requirements and emergency operations at the NRG backup facility.
- HS Diploma or GED.
- 0-5 years of experience in trade or real time operations or equivalent military experience.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Commodity trade experience including electricity, natural gas, and/or liquid fuel.
Skills and Abilities
- The candidate must perform in a fast-paced and stressful environment.
- Organizational skills are essential to execute multiple tasks with a high degree of accuracy.
- The candidate must possess superior oral and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with all stakeholders.
- The candidate must have computer experience in a Windows environment.
