Position: Skilled - Process Technician (Injection Molding)

Position Title: Process Technician - Plastic Injection Molding

Wage: $30.00 - $35.00/hour

Shift: 1st

Hours: 7:00am - 3:30pm (Monday - Friday)

We are hiring a Process Technician in Houston, TX to support and optimize plastic injection molding operations at a manufacturing facility in Houston. This is a hands‑on, first‑shift, direct‑hire opportunity for an experienced technician who enjoys troubleshooting, improving processes, and working closely with production and quality teams.

Process Technician Responsibilities
  • Set up and perform mold changes on injection molding machines (hydraulic, electric, or hybrid)
  • Establish, monitor, and adjust process parameters (temperature, pressure, injection speed, cycle time)
  • Troubleshoot molding defects including flash, short shots, sinks, warpage, and cosmetic issues
  • Monitor production runs to ensure parts meet quality and customer specifications
  • Perform first-article inspections and verify process documentation
  • Support new mold trials, sampling, and process validation
  • Optimize cycle times, reduce scrap, and improve overall process efficiency
  • Work closely with quality, production, and maintenance teams
  • Train and support machine operators on proper processing techniques
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance and identify equipment issues
  • Follow all safety, quality, and housekeeping standards
Requirements for Process Technician
  • 2–5+ years of hands‑on plastic injection molding process experience
  • Strong knowledge of injection molding processes, tooling, and material behavior
  • Proven troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to read and interpret process sheets, blueprints, and quality documentation
  • Mechanical aptitude and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross‑functionally
  • Experience with hot runner systems preferred
  • Familiarity with auxiliary equipment and material handling systems preferred
  • Experience supporting new mold startups or process improvements preferred
  • Technical training or certifications in plastics manufacturing preferred
