Machinist II; CNC Milling

Position: Machinist II (CNC Milling)
Job Description

Under the direction of the shop superintendent, the CNC Machinist II programs, operates, and maintains CNC and manual machining equipment to manufacture high precision carbon steel parts.

Responsibilities & Accountabilities

* Participate in JSEA, permit-to-work systems, SIMOPS, and safety briefings

* Perform assigned work in accordance with superintendent direction, site requirements, and approved procedures and manuals

* Develop one-off machining sequences and process using multiple machines (saw, mill, lathe, etc.)

* Program machining process utilizing Gibbs

CAM and Fanuc controls

* Complete maintenance and service logs as required for relevant equipment

* Safely install, relocate, and remove equipment using overhead gantry cranes and forklifts in accordance with approved lift plans and scope of work

* Maintain a clean, organized work area and comply with company quality and safety management systems, including stop work authority

Minimum Qualifications

* 5+ years of industry experience or documented formal training if less than 5 years of experience

* Experience with the use of common precision measurement tooling such as calipers, dials, and gauges to notate as-built drawings

* Programming and operating ability with a Haas VF-6 vertical mill (or similar equipment)

* Proficiency with Gibbs

CAM software

* Able and willing to cross-train on additional CNC and manual machining equipment

* Able to read and follow engineered drawings with machining dimensions and tolerances
