Position Overview

The Assistant Planner II will support production planning and scheduling activities to ensure alignment between material availability, production capacity, and project delivery requirements. This position will actively participate in maintaining production schedules, monitoring work order status, supporting shortage mitigation, and coordinating cross‑functional communication to drive on‑time execution.

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Review MRP messages and assist in identifying shortages, rescheduling requirements, and material constraints.
  • Maintain and monitor open production orders to ensure accuracy of material allocation, routing, and scheduling dates.
  • Coordinate with Planners, Buyers, Warehouse, and Production to resolve material discrepancies impacting the production schedule.
  • Support projects close‑out activities including verification of issued materials, operation completion, and order closure accuracy.
  • Assist in maintaining planning data integrity within ERP system including lead times, order dates, and item attributes.
  • Analyze demand signals and support capacity leveling efforts across active projects.
  • Generate and distribute production planning reports to support management visibility of schedule adherence and risk exposure.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on planning process standardization and data accuracy.
  • Additional responsibilities as required by TAS.
Job Skills
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in PC applications such as Excel, Word, Outlook, and ERP systems.
  • Strong understanding of production planning concepts including MRP logic, work order flow, and inventory control principles.
  • Ability to analyze data sets and identify trends, discrepancies, and schedule risks.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with superiors, peers, and cross‑functional departments.
Education & Training
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Associate degree in supply chain, business, engineering technology, or related field preferred.
Minimum Requirements
  • 3 years of Manufacturing, Production Planning, Inventory Control, or ERP related experience.
  • Working knowledge of production order processing and material requirement planning.
Preferred Requirements
  • Experience in a made‑to‑order or project‑based manufacturing environment.
  • Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables and data analysis tools.
  • Engineering and technical experience.
Physical Requirements / Work Environment

Position is at least 80% to 95% at a desk working with a computer. Requires the ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Performs other physical activities including use of fingers, sitting, stooping, bending, crouching, talking, hearing, and performing repetitive motions.

Visual acuity requirements include color, depth perception and field of vision necessary to prepare and analyze data and figures, operate a computer terminal, and conduct extensive reading. The incumbent will be subject to inside environmental conditions.
