Position Summary:
The Production Scheduler drives operational precision and throughput across Empower's compounding and manufacturing network, ensuring reliable, compliant, and scalable production outcomes. This role owns end-to-end scheduling strategy, balancing demand, capacity, materials, and regulatory constraints across a complex 503A environment. Leveraging AI as a force multiplier, the Scheduler accelerates decision-making, improves forecast accuracy, and optimizes resource allocation at speed and scale. Operating within a high-growth environment, this role directly impacts service levels, cost efficiency, and quality performance.
Responsibilities:
Production Planning
- Schedule Design: Develop and refine daily and weekly production schedules that optimize capacity utilization, balance demand variability, and align with regulatory requirements, maintenance cycles, and validation timelines.
- Capacity Optimization: Analyze constraints across labor, equipment, and materials to maximize throughput, minimize downtime, and adjust schedules in response to changing priorities.
- Demand Alignment: Integrate demand forecasts, order priorities, and inventory positions into scheduling plans to reduce bottlenecks, improve service levels, and maintain operational continuity.
- Stakeholder Alignment: Partner with R&D, Quality, Operations, and Materials Management to synchronize production plans, resolve conflicts, and ensure seamless execution.
- Resource Coordination: Coordinate materials, equipment, and personnel availability to ensure production inputs align with schedules while minimizing delays and waste.
- Communication Flow: Deliver clear, timely, and actionable scheduling updates and risk signals to stakeholders to support transparency and decision-making.
- Performance Analysis: Monitor production metrics, schedule adherence, and operational KPIs to identify inefficiencies, uncover trends, and support continuous improvement.
- Issue Resolution: Proactively identify scheduling conflicts, supply disruptions, and production risks, applying structured problem-solving to mitigate impact.
- Process Improvement: Optimize scheduling processes, systems, and tools by integrating automation, analytics, and best practices to improve accuracy and scalability.
Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in production planning systems, ERP platforms, and analytics tools.
- Strong understanding of capacity planning, supply chain dynamics, and process optimization methodologies.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration, stakeholder communication, and decision-making skills.
- Analytical capability with experience using data visualization and automation tools to improve performance.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in production scheduling, supply chain management, or operations planning within pharmaceutical or healthcare manufacturing.
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills with the ability to drive results under tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in production planning software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices and supply chain principles.
- For 503A, Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or Technician Trainee certification required;
