Compensation: $20 -$25/hr DOE
Location: Houston, TX 77028
Schedule: 7am to 4:30 pm, plus significant OT

Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Steel Plate Rolling Operator to join our fabrication team. In this role, you will be responsible for transforming heavy metal plates into precise cylindrical or conical shapes using specialized rolling machinery. You will play a critical part in our production line, ensuring every piece meets engineering specifications and quality standards for our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Machine Operation: Set up and operate [3-roll / 4-roll / CNC] plate rolling machines to form steel plates into specified radii.
- Blueprints & Layout: Read and interpret technical drawings, templates, and work orders to determine rolling sequences and material requirements.
- Material Handling: Safely operate overhead cranes and forklifts to load, position, and unload heavy steel components.
- Quality Inspection: Use precision measuring tools (calipers, tape measures, pi tapes) to verify dimensions and ensure parts stay within tolerance.
- Preventative Maintenance: Perform daily inspections and routine maintenance (cleaning, lubricating) to keep machinery in optimal working condition.
- Safety Compliance: Maintain a clean workspace and strictly follow all safety protocols, including the use of PPE and lockout/tagout procedures.
- Experience: 2 years of experience in heavy metal fabrication or plate rolling.
- Technical Knowledge: Understanding of metal properties, including "spring-back" and material thickness allowances.
- Math Skills: Proficient in shop math, including geometry and decimal/fraction conversions.
- Physical Ability: Must be able to stand for 8-10 hours, work in a shop environment (noise/dust), and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Certifications: High School Diploma or GED;
Overhead Crane and Forklift certification preferred.
