What You'll Do

The Production Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating manufacturing operations to achieve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity objectives. This role leads production teams, drives continuous improvement, ensures regulatory compliance, and partners cross-functionally to meet business goals.

How Youll Do It
  • Production & Operations Management
    • Oversee daily production to meet output, quality, and delivery goals
    • Optimize labor, equipment, and materials utilization
    • Monitor KPIs including efficiency, scrap, and downtime
    • Balance production priorities based on demand and capacity
    • Ensure adherence to standard work and procedures
  • People Leadership & Development
    • Lead, coach, and develop supervisors and production teams
    • Set performance expectations and conduct reviews
    • Support hiring, training, onboarding, and succession planning
    • Promote accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement
    • Partner with HR on employee relations matters
  • Safety, Quality & Compliance
    • Ensure compliance with OSHA, safety, and regulatory standards
    • Promote a strong safety culture through training and audits
    • Maintain product quality and customer specifications
    • Investigate and resolve safety and quality issues
    • Support audits, corrective actions, and documentation
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Drive Lean, Six Sigma, and problem-solving initiatives
    • Identify inefficiencies and implement corrective actions
    • Lead Kaizen and productivity improvement projects
    • Support standardization and visual management systems
  • Performance & Reporting
    • Track and analyze operational KPIs and labor costs
    • Review production performance reports
    • Communicate risks, performance, and action plans to leadership
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Partner with Maintenance, Supply Chain, Quality, Engineering, and Finance
    • Support equipment uptime, inventory accuracy, process improvements, and cost control
  • Authority & Decision-Making
    • Adjust staffing, schedules, and priorities to meet production needs
    • Approve overtime and initiate process improvements
    • Escalate risks impacting safety, quality, or delivery
What You'll Bring

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of manufacturing leadership experience
  • Strong knowledge of production planning, labor management, and shop-floor execution
  • Proven ability to lead teams and drive performance improvements

Preferred

  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and production reporting tools
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA and manufacturing safety standards
Your Work Environment
  • Active work environment requiring frequent walking throughout manufacturing, warehouse, and distribution areas
  • Maintain strong safety awareness around large machinery and heavy products up to 200 lbs.
  • Up to 10% travel required
