This role also performs in‑process and final dimensional inspections using precision measurement tools and inspection equipment to ensure all products meet engineering specifications and aerospace quality requirements.

The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, mechanically inclined, and committed to producing high‑precision components in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. A candidate for this position will be encouraged to take on as much responsibility as practical and will be expected to play a role in the manufacturing and implementation of parts that will support or be part of the Lunar program. This includes but is not limited to the Lunar Lander, Satellites, Payloads support, Test and Verification and others.

Responsibilities:
  • Set up, operate, and adjust CNC tube‑bending machines to produce tubes and assemblies per engineering drawings and work instructions.
  • Perform part measurements using inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, CMM/laser scanning systems, bend check fixtures, or other precision equipment.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, bend data sheets, and GD&T requirements to ensure accurate and compliant part production.
  • Monitor machine performance, make minor program or tooling adjustments, and escalates issues when necessary.
  • Perform first‑piece, in‑process, and final inspections to verify dimensional accuracy and bend quality.
  • Document process data, inspection results, and part traceability in travelers, logs, or digital systems.
  • Conduct routine machine maintenance, including lubrication, tool changes, and general upkeep.
  • Identify nonconforming conditions, report issues to quality or engineering, and assist in corrective actions when needed.
  • Ensure proper handling of aerospace tubing materials to prevent contamination, damage, or deformation.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and FOD‑controlled work environment.
  • Follow all safety procedures, machine‑operation standards, and PPE requirements.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1–3 years of experience operating CNC equipment, tube benders, or similar machinery.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, bend schematics, and basic GD&T.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience using standard inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, etc.).
  • Ability to follow detailed work instructions and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Comfortable working with metal tubing, precision components, and production machinery.
  • Ability to lift, move, or position tubing assemblies up to 75 lbs.
Preferred Requirements:
  • Experience in aerospace manufacturing, tubing fabrication, or high‑precision production.
  • Familiarity with CNC tube‑bending software or controls (e.g., Eaton Leonard, Horn, BLM).
  • Experience with laser tube measuring systems, CMMs, or automated inspection equipment.
  • Knowledge of GD&T, bend compensation, spring‑back characteristics, or tube‑forming principles.
  • Understanding of FOD prevention, cleanliness requirements, or special‑process compliance.
