Position Overview
The Production Expeditor Coordinator tracks project progress, monitors material delivered to the shop floor, and assists in the issuance and return of work orders.
Key Job Responsibilities- Report daily production hours to Production Supervisors for projects within the facility.
- Report delinquent work order closing and assist the planning team with timely closure of work orders.
- Expedite missing or delayed parts to maintain production schedules.
- Maintain all parts organized and separated for each project.
- Verify that materials delivered are issued correctly and systematically to each project.
- Keep track of due dates on missing material.
- Communicate with production leads and supervisors regarding material shortages, delays, or issues affecting workflow and discrepancies.
- Assist in prioritizing and scheduling work to meet deadlines and customer demands.
- Help train employees and leads on utilizing LN.
- Maintain a clean work area and follow 5S basics.
- Update related smart sheets and spreadsheets for each project within the facility.
- Update tracking systems (e.g., SPS or ERP software) to reflect current job and material statuses.
- Help correct discrepancies between drawings and BOM.
- Serve as the liaison between production, warehouse, planning, quality, and other departments.
- Communicate clearly with team members to ensure understanding of production priorities and changes.
- Identify potential production bottlenecks and take proactive steps with the Production Supervisor to resolve them.
- Work with team leads to troubleshoot and resolve material flow issues efficiently.
- Support other departments on issuing correct materials into the system.
- Perform any other duties assigned by TAS.
- Coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Collect, interpret, and analyze complex data and information.
- Understand and respond to a diverse population.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to operate forklift.
- Computer literacy.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings.
- Strong organizational skills.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Two to six years of related experience.
- Work is performed in a shop environment.
- Exposed to various elements but not in a disagreeable manner.
- Frequent moving of up to 50 lbs of materials.
- Regularly required to sit or stand, bend, and reach.
- Use of safety glasses is required.
- Use of earplugs is recommended.
- Ability to stand up to 10 hours a day (with lunch in between) and up to 6 days a week.
- Ability to work in a non–air‑conditioned environment.
- Occasionally use negligible force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
- Perform other physical activities including use of fingers, sitting, stooping, bending, crouching, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
- Visual acuity requirements include color, depth perception, and field of vision necessary to prepare and analyze data and figures, operate a computer terminal, and conduct extensive reading.
- Incumbent will be subject to inside environmental conditions.
