Operations Manager

A well-established industrial services company in Houston is seeking an Operations Manager to lead day-to-day production execution at their local facility. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for translating customer demand and production plans into reliable, repeatable shop-floor results. The successful candidate will own throughput, labor productivity, scheduling, and inventory — driving efficiency while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.

• Own daily and weekly production execution to ensure adherence to production schedules, delivery commitments, and efficiency targets.
• Drive throughput and equipment utilization through effective scheduling, workflow management, and operational planning.
• Identify production bottlenecks and implement corrective actions to maintain optimal plant performance and minimize downtime.

• Plan and deploy labor resources to meet production requirements while maintaining budget alignment.
• Adjust staffing levels, shift coverage, and overtime in response to production demand and operational needs.
• Monitor productivity metrics and lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance workforce efficiency.
• Lead, develop, and hold supervisors and operators accountable for performance, safety, and quality standards.

• Maintain accurate control of raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods inventory.
• Coordinate material flow to ensure production continuity and prevent shortages or excess inventory.
• Partner with Purchasing to support accurate inventory planning and replenishment strategies.

• Own production scheduling aligned with customer demand and operational capacity.
• Collaborate with Customer Service, Quality, and Maintenance teams to ensure smooth production execution.
• Adjust production schedules in real time based on downtime events, capacity constraints, and shifting priorities.

• Oversee inbound and outbound logistics to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant material movement.
• Ensure all shipments are properly verified, documented, labeled, and processed according to requirements.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external carriers to support on-time delivery commitments.

• Monitor key operational metrics including labor efficiency, throughput, schedule adherence, scrap rates, and inventory accuracy.
• Identify performance gaps and lead corrective action initiatives to drive continuous improvement.
• Participate in daily and weekly operating cadence reviews with leadership teams to review performance and priorities.

• Enforce strict adherence to safety policies and promote a strong safety culture across the facility.
• Support compliance with quality systems and industry standards, including CQI-9 and ISO requirements.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action processes for quality or operational non-conformances.

• 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, industrial operations, or production environments.
• 3+ years of experience in a supervisory or operations leadership role.
• Demonstrated success managing production scheduling, labor planning, and operational performance in a high-throughput environment.
• Strong knowledge of safety standards and quality systems; CQI-9 and ISO experience preferred.
• Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop frontline teams in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to coordinate effectively across multiple functions and shifts.
