Material Handler, 1st Shift

Description

The Material Handler position compiles, maintains material, parts and status information to expedite movement of material and parts between production areas by performing the following duties.

• Receive and store materials and then pick and package items to fill orders
• Perform regular cycle counts to maintain accurate inventory records.
• Operate material handling equipment
• Check products being shipped against shipping orders to ensure proper quantity and identification
• Coordinate with the logistics department on all outbound shipments
• Check packaging requirements
• Ensure deliveries match purchase orders and document inventory accurately

• Ability to read, comprehend and carry out detailed written/oral instructions
• Ability to operate a forklift

• Able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Proven organizational skills
• Ability to prioritize and work independently

• Able to push, carry, lift, and move materials up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to work while walking/standing for extended periods of time.
• Ability to lift heavy items, stand or walk for extended periods, and perform repetitive manual labor.
• Able to walk across a production facility.

• Typical production environment.
• Willing and able to work additional hours as needed to ensure responsibilities are met.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1-3 years' experience in a warehouse environment.
• 1-3 years' forklift experience.
• Computer skills.
• Bi-lingual in Spanish is a plus.
