Position Summary
Service Wire Company, a premier supplier of industrial and utility wire and cable, is currently seeking a 1st shift Material Handler/High Reach Operator in Houston, TX. Join a growing team and help support warehouse operations by efficiently receiving, transporting, and organizing materials throughout the facility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES- Process material cuts per customer specifications and record distribution data
- Palletize and prepare orders for shipment using a stand‑up, high‑reach forklift
- Maintain inventory stock and an organized warehouse
- Transport wire and materials throughout the facility on a forklift
- Maintain safety standards and a clean work environment according to company protocols
- High‑reach forklift proficiency
- Basic math and measuring skills
- Ability to read, comprehend, and respond to general instructions and directions
- Ability to stand and move about the facility for extended periods
- Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs (assistance provided as needed)
- Company forklift operation training and certification
- High school diploma, GED, or one year of related industrial experience or equivalent training
- Work in hot and cold environments without climate control
- In‑person attendance is an essential function of the job
- Work environment is comparable to outdoor temperatures
- Regularly stands, bends, reaches, and moves materials up to 50 lbs
- Occasionally required to move up to 100 lbs by pushing, pulling, or sliding material (assistance provided as needed)
- Visual inspection of material quality required
- Must be able to work in hot and cold environments without climate control
- In‑person attendance is an essential function of the job
- 6:30 am – 3:15 pm (first shift)
