Material Handler - 1st Shift

Position Summary

Service Wire Company, a premier supplier of industrial and utility wire and cable, is currently seeking a 1st shift Material Handler/High Reach Operator in Houston, TX. • Process material cuts according to customer specifications and record distribution data
• Palletize and prepare orders for shipment using a stand‑up, high‑reach forklift
• Receive and unload materials
• Maintain inventory stock and an organized warehouse
• Transport wire and materials throughout facility on a forklift
• Maintain safety standards and organized work environment

• High‑reach forklift proficiency (company certification required)
• Basic math and measuring skills
• Ability to read, comprehend, and respond to general instructions and directions
• Ability to stand and move about the facility for extended periods
• Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 pounds (assistance provided as needed)
• High school diploma/GED or one year related industrial experience or equivalent training
• Must be able to work in hot and cold environments without climate control. In‑person attendance is an essential function of the job.

• Personal protective equipment is required.
• Continuous participation in company safety training.
• Company forklift operation and certification.

• Work environment comparable to outdoor temperatures.
• Regularly stands, bends, and reaches for extended periods.
• Regularly moves about the facility.
• Regularly lifts and moves materials up to 50 pounds, occasionally up to 100 pounds by pushing, pulling, or sliding (assistance provided as needed).
• Visual inspection of material quality required.

First shift: 6:30 am – 3:15 pm.
