HVAC Quality Control Specialist

Temp-to-Hire | Houston, TX

Pay: $23.00 to $26.00 per hour (based on experience)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 10-hour shifts (40+ hours + overtime)
Shift Options: As early as 6:00 AM start or rotating shift (Noon – 10:30 PM)

Openwork is hiring an experienced HVAC Quality Control Specialist to support a respected HVAC manufacturing operation in Houston. This role is critical to ensuring every project meets the highest standards of accuracy, compliance, and performance.

If you have a strong HVAC background and take pride in doing things right the first time, this is an opportunity to play a key role in maintaining quality across production and operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review drawings, specifications, submittals, and change orders for accuracy and completeness.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards, manufacturer guidelines, and applicable codes.
  • Conduct routine quality audits and track corrective actions.
  • Perform walkthroughs to monitor production and identify issues.
  • Partner with internal teams and vendors to resolve quality concerns.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and audit records.
  • Provide feedback and coaching to improve consistency and performance.
  • Support audits and continuous improvement efforts.
Qualifications:
  • HVAC systems knowledge and hands‑on experience.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in quality control, quality assurance, or a related role.
  • Strong attention to detail and organization.
  • Ability to interpret technical documents and drawings.
  • Strong communication and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
Education & Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Technical or vocational training is a plus.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of related experience required.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors.
  • Ability to stand and move for extended periods.
  • Ability to climb ladders and access equipment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
