Production Supervisor – Steam Turbines & Compressors
Pearland, TX
Production Supervisor / Operations Supervisor / Shop SupervisorThis role oversees all production activity tied to steam turbines, multistage compressors, and large industrial valves
, covering both mechanical teardown/overhaul
and machining operations
.
This position is ideal for a hands‑on supervisor who has personally worked on, or has managed teams working on,
full disassembly, inspection, repair, machining, and reassembly
of heavy rotating equipment. You will lead a skilled shop, ensure process discipline, elevate safety culture, and drive top‑tier quality across all turbine and compressor repairs.
- $125k–$150k base

- Lead teams performing complete disassembly, inspection, repair, and reassembly of:
- Steam turbines
- Multistage compressors
- Industrial valves
- Ensure correct teardown sequencing, inspection documentation, clearances, tolerances, and rebuild standards.
- Oversee machining operations supporting turbine/compressor repair, including:
- CNC mill/lathe setups
- Line-boring
- Case machining
- Rotor machining
- Impeller repair and manufacturing
- 4- and 5-axis machining
- Ensure accuracy, tooling selection, fixturing, and machining discipline are followed with zero skipped steps.
- Spend 50%+ of time on the shop floor
, providing hands‑on leadership and technical guidance. - Drive a high‑performance culture with clear accountability, improved safety, and adherence to procedures.
- Manage scheduling, labour planning, workflow, job routers, and production metrics.
- Oversee warranty compliance and collaborate tightly with QA, engineering, and field service.
- Lead continuous improvement in efficiency, process reliability, and cost performance.
- 5–10 years of hands‑on experience with steam turbines, multistage compressors, or industrial valve overhauls.
- Ability to guide technicians through complete tear‑down and rebuild processes
. - Advanced machining background
, including CNC setup knowledge, case/rotor machining, line‑boring, or impeller manufacturing. - Solid technical understanding of rotating equipment across turbines, compressors and valves.
- Experience in a repair shop, OEM, or turbo machinery service environment.
- Proven leadership skills and a track record of elevating team performance and safety culture.
- Ability to balance shop floor activity with production planning and reporting duties.
