Our client is a growing manufacturer in the Houston area. They are seeking a Materials Manager to lead inventory control and material handling operations across the plant.

This role owns the end-to-end flow of raw materials, from receiving through production, and partners closely with purchasing and planning to keep inventory accurate and operations running smoothly. The right person will bring a continuous improvement mindset and strong ERP discipline.

Responsibilities

• Direct day-to-day material handling, warehouse, and inventory control activities

• Partner with purchasing and production planning to keep raw material flow uninterrupted

• Drive inventory accuracy through cycle counts, reconciliation, and root-cause resolution of discrepancies

• Ensure incoming materials are inspected and meet quality requirements before entering inventory

• Establish and refine procedures so ERP records reflect real-time inventory status

• Lead, coach, and develop a team including a Yard Manager and Inventory Control staff

• Identify and implement process improvements across material handling and storage

• Maintain proper labeling, organization, and storage standards across the facility

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or equivalent practical experience

• 7+ years of progressive supply chain experience within a manufacturing environment

• Demonstrated experience leading an hourly, plant-based workforce

• Strong working knowledge of ERP and inventory management systems

• Solid analytical ability with comfort interpreting operational and inventory data

• Background in vendor negotiation and cross-functional communication

• Experience with cost control, budgeting, and supply chain planning principles

• Proven leadership managing warehouse or materials-handling teams
