A well-established independent oilfield services company is looking for a highly skilled CNC Machinist to perform the setup and operation of CNC machinery (lathe and/or mill). The ideal candidate is knowledgeable in operating lathes and milling machines and understands geometric tolerances and dimensions. Following safety regulations, the new hire will meet or exceed production goals through efficient and effective execution of work instructions while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities- Set up and operate CNC machinery in all phases of operation, to run first article parts and/or to proof new programs ensuring quality product throughout the production run.
- Work on new product programs, including ensuring production readiness for new launches.
- Review blueprints, drawings, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of part/product, sequence of operations and/or set up requirements.
- Identify, produce, and gauge a variety of straight and taper threads, including Acme and buttress (does not apply to mill positions).
- Measure, mark, and otherwise indicate the dimensions and reference points on the part or material to be used as guides for subsequent machining.
- Select, align, and secure the holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines to include mills, lathes, and grinders.
- Calculate and set controls to regulate various machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut.
- Start and observe machine operation to detect any malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjust the machine controls or control media as necessary.
- Verify conformance of finished part to ensure that it meets specifications.
- Confer with production personnel, engineers, or others to resolve machining or assembly issues.
- Perform daily maintenance duties and/or notify supervisor of any equipment-related issues that may require attention.
- Maintain clean and orderly work area.
- 4+ year certificate from college or technical school or minimum of five years related experience and/or training
- Ability to work under a minimum of supervision
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings as they pertain to machining of inflatable packers or related downhole tools
- Must have own tools adequate to perform job
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write and/or complete routine reports
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
