The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations to ensure production goals are met safely, efficiently, and in compliance with quality and company standards. This role leads production employees, coordinates workflow, enforces safety procedures, and supports continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and coordinate daily production activities to meet output, quality, and schedule requirements.
- Assign work tasks and monitor workflow to ensure efficient use of labor and equipment.
- Ensure production targets, deadlines, and performance standards are achieved.
- Communicate production priorities and changes to the team.
- Lead, train, coach, and motivate production employees.
- Conduct employee evaluations, disciplinary actions, and performance feedback in coordination with HR.
- Support onboarding and training of new employees.
- Enforce OSHA, company safety policies, PPE requirements, and safe work practices.
- Conduct safety talks, incident investigations, and corrective actions as required.
- Ensure proper machine operation and lockout/tagout procedures are followed.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and improve processes.
- Participate in Lean, 5S, or continuous improvement initiatives.
- Communicate production issues and improvement suggestions to management.
- High school diploma or GED.
- 2-5 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Previous supervisory or lead experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of safety practices and production processes.
- Ability to lead teams and manage multiple priorities.
- Experience with Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the facility for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs with or without accommodation.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with noise, heat, and machinery.
