Seeking: Structural Fitter - 3rd Shift
Location: Northeast Houston, TX
Pay: $22.00-$24.00 per hour | Weekly Pay | Based on Experience
Schedule: Monday-Friday | 9:00 PM - 7:00 AM
Employment Type: Full-Time | Temp-to-Hire

Openwork is partnering with a leading manufacturer of premium steel and aluminum bar grating to hire experienced Structural Fitters for their 3rd Shift team. This is an excellent opportunity for skilled professionals who take pride in precision fabrication, blueprint interpretation, and producing high-quality structural products in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

What You'll Do:
- Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and welding symbols.
- Measure, mark, cut, grind, and prepare steel components for assembly.
- Fit and tack weld materials according to production specifications.
- Assemble grating panels, stair treads, frames, and structural products.
- Operate forklifts, hoists, and overhead cranes safely and efficiently.
- Inspect assemblies to ensure dimensional accuracy within a 1/8" tolerance.
- Work closely with welders, supervisors, and production teams to meet daily goals.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment.
- 3-5 years of structural fitting, fabrication, or related manufacturing experience required.
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols.
- Experience using grinders, cutting torches, hand tools, and measuring equipment.
- Forklift and overhead crane experience preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and remain active throughout the shift.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Reliable attendance and a safety-first mindset.
- Successful completion of a fit-up test during the on-site interview is required.
