Shift: Day Shift and Night Shift Available
The Welder is responsible for fabricating and welding HVAC components, curb adapters, and sheet metal assemblies in accordance with engineering drawings, work orders, and quality standards. This role requires proficiency in MIG welding, safe operation of welding equipment, and the ability to produce high‑quality welds while meeting production requirements.
We are seeking individuals who are detail‑oriented, safety‑conscious, and capable of working independently or as part of a team in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesWelding & Fabrication:
- Perform MIG welding on sheet metal, steel, and fabricated HVAC components.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders.
- Assemble and weld components according to specifications and quality requirements.
- Ensure welds meet appearance, strength, and dimensional standards.
- Assist with fitting, aligning, and securing materials prior to welding.
- Perform grinding, cleaning, and finishing operations as required.
Material Handling & Equipment:
- Lift, move, position, and secure work pieces using appropriate tools and equipment.
- Operate welding machines, grinders, hand tools, and related fabrication equipment safely.
- Maintain welding equipment and report malfunctions or repair needs.
- Collect materials and equipment necessary to complete assigned work.
Quality & Compliance:
- Inspect completed welds for quality, accuracy, and compliance with specifications.
- Identify and report defects, damaged materials, or production issues.
- Follow approved work instructions, drawings, and quality procedures.
- Support rework and corrective actions when necessary.
Safety:
- Follow all company safety policies and welding safety procedures.
- Properly wear and maintain required PPE at all times.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Report unsafe conditions, equipment issues, and incidents immediately.
Teamwork & Communication:
- Work effectively with welders, assemblers, leads, supervisors, and other departments.
- Communicate production issues, material shortages, and quality concerns promptly.
- Participate in required training and cross‑training activities.
- Support department productivity and continuous improvement initiatives.
Measurable Performance Goals:
- Maintain at least 95% first‑pass quality on completed weldments.
- Meet daily production and schedule requirements.
- Maintain attendance at least 98%.
- Achieve at least 90% compliance during quality and 5S audits.
- Maintain compliance with all welding, safety, and PPE requirements.
- Minimum 3 years of welding experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
- Proficient in MIG welding techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and welding specifications.
- Experience using grinders, hand tools, and welding equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Experience in HVAC manufacturing, curb adapter fabrication, or sheet metal fabrication.
- Ability to perform layout, fitting, and fabrication work.
- Experience working in a production‑driven manufacturing environment.
- Strong welding and fabrication skills.
- Excellent hand‑eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to manage time effectively and meet production deadlines.
- Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment around welding operations, machinery, and moving equipment.
- Comfortable working on elevated and flat surfaces as required.
- Ability to wear required PPE, including welding helmet, gloves, sleeves, safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel‑toe footwear.
