Apache Workforce is currently hiring Fabrication Helpers for opportunities with TAS Energy in Houston. We are seeking motivated candidates with fabrication, manufacturing, construction, or industrial experience who are ready to grow within a fast-paced production environment.
Position OverviewThe Fabrication Helper assists the Fabrication Department with assembling packaged equipment. This role supports skilled fitters and welders with fabrication tasks while maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient work environment.
Key Responsibilities- Review work assignments to determine tools and materials needed
- Assist Fitters, Welders, and Supervisors with fabrication operations
- Prepare raw materials for fabrication including cleaning, measuring, and staging
- Operate basic fabrication tools and machinery under supervision
- Follow blueprints, schematics, and instructions to support accurate part assembly
- Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance of tools and equipment
- Assist with lifting, moving, and handling heavy materials and components
- Maintain a clean and organized work area following 5S standards
- Follow OSHA regulations and company safety procedures at all times
- Properly use PPE and report any safety concerns immediately
- Participate in safety meetings and training sessions
- Perform additional duties assigned
- Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
- Experience using power tools and fabrication equipment
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and procedures
- Physical stamina to lift and move heavy materials
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 2 years of fabrication experience
- Forklift experience required
- Overhead crane experience required
- Ability to tack/jack weld
- Basic understanding of fabrication shop safety standards
- Manufacturing or construction experience
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles
- Experience working in industrial shop environments
- Strong teamwork and communication abilities
- Work performed in a manufacturing/shop environment
- Must be comfortable working in a non-air-conditioned facility
- Ability to stand for up to 10 hours per day and work overtime as needed
- Frequent lifting and moving of materials up to 50 lbs
- Regular bending, reaching, standing, and walking
- Safety glasses required; earplugs recommended
- Day Shift Available
