Production Planner

For a manufacturing client based in Houston, TX, Adecco is recruiting a Production Planner to coordinate and oversee daily manufacturing activities within the Production Department. The position reports directly and functionally to the Plant Manager and works closely with production team members and other departments. The Production Planner is responsible for ensuring that manufacturing orders are executed correctly, that raw materials and finished products are controlled and identified properly, and that production targets are achieved on schedule.

The role focuses on efficiency, quality, safety, and adherence to delivery milestones, while driving continuous improvement initiatives using methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma. This position requires a bilingual professional in English and Spanish, with proven experience in a manufacturing or production environment and strong knowledge of production processes and equipment.

What

You Will Do
  • Coordinate and oversee daily manufacturing activities to ensure efficiency, quality, and safety standards are consistently met within established delivery times.
  • Control incoming and outgoing raw material and finished product, ensuring proper identification, documentation, and correct execution of all related processes.
  • Execute and monitor manufacturing orders for the manufacturing team, supervising that all production processes are carried out correctly and according to defined procedures.
  • Resolve production incidents in the shortest possible time to avoid missing delivery deadlines and to maintain adherence to achievement objectives and delivery milestones.
  • Manage inventory and stock control, monitoring material availability to support continuous production and minimize disruptions to the manufacturing schedule.
  • Control production to ensure that defined production targets are achieved on schedule, using Production KPIs (OEE) and other key dimension indicators.
  • Lead initiatives for continuous improvement in production processes, utilizing methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing and, when applicable, Six Sigma tools and practices.
  • Work closely with quality control teams to establish, implement, and maintain quality standards throughout the entire production process and product flow.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and standards, promoting EHS Values and a strong safety mindset on the production floor.
  • Provide training and support to production staff on new processes, equipment, and safety procedures, and foster a culture of continuous learning and skill development.
Your Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field, providing a solid technical foundation for understanding production processes and equipment in a manufacturing environment.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish, with the ability to communicate effectively with production team members and other departments in both languages.
  • Proven experience in a manufacturing or production environment, with a strong understanding of production processes, equipment, and day-to-day plant operations.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies, with the ability to apply these concepts to optimize production performance.
  • Knowledge in SAP for production, inventory, or materials-related activities, ensuring accurate data, traceability, and integration with plant information systems.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, including the ability to analyze data, prepare reports, and support production planning and control activities.
