Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily inspection routines across the facility to ensure the proper condition and functionality of gauging and measuring instruments.
  • Manage the availability and control of gauging instruments required for production operations, including planning, purchasing, and receiving of instruments and services.
  • Maintain and monitor calibration schedules to ensure compliance with defined calibration frequencies.
  • Coordinate and manage work orders related to instrument verification and calibration activities using electronic systems.
  • Ensure all internal verification and calibration processes are executed in accordance with the established procedures and standards.
  • Ensure that weekly and monthly calibration status and due date reports are communicated to relevant stakeholders.
  • Control and maintain inspection records for molds and casts from threading lines, ensuring proper storage and traceability.
  • Ensure training and guidance to personnel is provided on gage lab procedures, equipment handling and best practices.
  • Oversee the coupling receiving inspection process followed by established procedure.
  • Manage the calibration of Buck‑on units in accordance with operational standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area within the gage lab.
  • Lead and manage safety risk assessment related to gage lab operations.
  • Actively support and participate in company programs, including safety, occupational health and environmental initiatives.
Experience, Skills, and Knowledge
  • Leadership
  • Knowledge of calibration standards and metrology practices
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to read and clarify technical specifications and drawings
  • Understanding of quality systems, traceability, and calibration control requirements
  • Computer skills, including basics of Excel, Word, Adobe;
    Smart Sheets and Outlook, and the ability to learn new applications
  • Data generation – completion and generation of Fabriq, SAP, Gage Track
  • Effective communication and teamwork
  • Experience working in a manufacturing, production, or industrial environment preferred
Education, Training, and Certifications
  • Degree diploma or equivalent experience
  • Calibration experience / certification
  • Quality Control Inspector preferred
Critical Competencies & Capabilities
  • Ability to follow instructions, teamwork, adaptability, accountability, reliability, dependability, initiative, safety awareness
  • Technical knowledge in ASTM or ISO standards for calibration
  • Ability to lift, move and transport gauging equipment and samples within the facility
  • Ability to safely operate or work around material handling equipment and overhead cranes
5S, Safety, and Working Conditions
  • Keep equipment and working area clean for the purpose of safety, appearance, and operating efficiency
  • Place equipment, tooling, and gauging in the proper location at the end of the shift or completion of the job task
  • Clean up the work area at the end of the shift and/or during the shift as required
Safety and Working Conditions
  • Observe safety rules and wear required safety equipment while on the job
  • Always follow what is known to be safe practice, safety rules
  • Participate on the safety programs: risk assessments, reporting of UA/UC
  • Noise may at times be to a high degree
  • Work for extended periods of time in ambient temperature ranges from 0 to 120 degrees F
  • Walking between lines and threading line’s location, entering different process stations
  • Duties performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to outside weather elements
Education

High School or better.

Technical/other training or better.

Preferred Education

Bachelors or better.
