Burn Operator

Houston, Texas:
Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a Burn Operator with experience using hand-held gas cutting torches to cut and prepare various sizes of pipe and pipe fittings in a safe and efficient manner. This position supports fabrication and material processing operations by ensuring materials are accurately cut to specifications while maintaining a safe work environment.

• Operate hand-held gas cutting torches to cut pipe, fittings, and related materials.
• Remove ends from various sizes and types of pipe according to project requirements.
• Measure and mark materials for accurate cuts.
• Inspect materials before and after cutting to ensure quality standards are met.
• Maintain cutting equipment and report any operational issues.
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies while performing cutting operations.
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards.
• Assist with material handling, loading, unloading, and shop support activities as needed.
• Work closely with supervisors and team members to meet production schedules.

• Previous experience as a Burn Operator, Torch Cutter, or similar role.
• Proficiency using hand-held gas cutting torches.
• Ability to read and interpret work instructions, measurements, and specifications.
• Knowledge of safe torch-cutting practices and equipment operation.
• Ability to identify different pipe sizes and fittings.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb as required.
• Must be able to work in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions.
• Ability to safely use personal protective equipment (PPE), including gloves, safety glasses, hard hats, and steel-toe boots.
• Must have sufficient vision and dexterity to safely operate cutting equipment and handle materials.
