2nd Shift CNC Machinist (Mon-Thu 5:30 p m – 2:00 a m)This role operates CNC lathe and mill machines to produce standardized parts. Responsibilities include setting up and operating machines, performing inspections, maintaining records, creating jigs/fixtures, performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and utilizing GD&T.
Responsibilities- Work from drawings, sketches and specifications to complete machining operations.
- Perform machine set‑ups to achieve close tolerances and part alignment.
- Obtain first‑piece inspections and perform inspections throughout a run.
- Maintain timesheets, part counts, inspection records and requisition forms.
- Make jigs, fixtures or other specialized devices as needed.
- Conduct first‑piece inspections for other machinists.
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance of machines.
- Troubleshoot drawings, machining, tooling, programming, material, etc., and make decisions on the job.
- Apply GD&T as indicated on prints.
- Ensure proper machine set‑up and accurate interpretation of prints to prevent damage and detect errors via tolerance/quality checks.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Trade school or on‑the‑job training to become proficient on most phases of the job.
- Technical training in shop math and blueprint reading.
- At least 2 years of experience as a CNC machinist.
- Walks, stands, reaches, and bends frequently. Periodic lifting of moderate to heavy items. Requires good hand/eye coordination.
- Normal operations require eye protection, steel‑toed footwear, and occasionally hand protection.
- Exposure to machine shop environment with periodic noise. Limited disagreeable factors present.
This position is eligible to earn a discretionary bonus based on performance metrics and other criteria outlined in our applicable bonus plan.
