Position: Production Operator (Overnight Shift) (Manufacturing) (Chemicals)

Production Operator (Manufacturing) (Chemicals, Coatings)

Location: Houston, TX |

Schedule: 3rd Shift (11:00pm–7:30am) |
Salary: $17.00 hourly ($0.75 shift differential) |
Education: High School Diploma (Minimum)

Responsibilities
  • Maintain clean, safe work areas and minimize material spillage.
  • Achieve all production and quality goals.
  • Assist maintenance when directed by the Shift Leader.
  • Communicate with employees across shifts to ensure status updates.
  • Provide representative samples to Quality Control promptly and respond to their inquiries.
  • Maintain accurate logs, records, and reports.
  • Follow all company policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Evaluate equipment for proper conditions and submit maintenance orders as needed.
  • Immediately alert Shift Leader of any equipment, product, or personnel problem.
  • Empty dust collectors, central vacuum systems, and maintain environmental compliance.
  • Clean equipment between products to prevent cross‑contamination.
  • Coordinate work schedule with systems, materials, and services for timely delivery.
  • Load pre‑weighed raw materials into mixing bowls and mix per instructions.
  • Maintain material feed to keep extruder running.
  • In the bonding/blending area, load base material, add raw materials per batch ticket, set conditions, and monitor the process to meet specifications.
  • Ensure accurate fill of finished goods and maintain inventory records.
  • In the extrusion area, set batch conditions, adjust cooling belt for proper chip size, and keep spare screws ready.
  • In the grinding/packaging area, monitor process, adjust particle size, and ensure accurate filling of containers.
  • Ensure product clears alpine check and wrap finished goods skids.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma (minimum).
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Minimum of 2 years of manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Ability to work different shifts and overtime as needed.
