Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Fabrication Technician to support the manufacturing of PDC (Polycrystalline Diamond Compact) drill bits. This role is responsible for fabrication, assembly, finishing, repair, and inspection activities while ensuring compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manufacture and assemble PDC drill bits per engineering drawings and specifications.
- Perform fabrication activities including CNC machining, welding, brazing, grinding, painting, furnacing, inspection, and repair/rework.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, BOMs, and manufacturing documents.
- Use calipers, micrometers, and precision measuring tools to ensure product quality.
- Operate pneumatic and electric hand tools safely and efficiently.
- Conduct quality inspections and troubleshoot production issues.
- Support material handling and forklift operations as needed.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
- Cross-train across multiple manufacturing processes to support production needs.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience in fabrication, assembly, manufacturing, or mechanical production environments.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and manufacturing documentation.
- Experience using measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, including fractions and decimals.
- Experience operating pneumatic and electric hand tools.
- Forklift experience preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
- CNC machining experience.
- Welding or brazing experience.
- Experience in oil & gas, drilling tools, machining, or industrial manufacturing environments.
- Quality inspection and mechanical troubleshooting experience.
