Our sensors are essential to everyday life, used to test and monitor water quality in a variety of applications worldwide, including wastewater, drinking water processing, environmental monitoring, pharmaceutical (vaccine) manufacturing, food & beverage supply, power generation, and many other fundamental applications. Municipalities, multinational organizations, and system integrators rely on our sensors as critical consumable components in their systems globally, ensuring safe drinking water, clean aqueous environments, and the general health and safety of communities worldwide.

The Senior Machinist can perform all tasks involved in the production of the company’s machined sub‑assemblies and/or machined final products. This includes programming and operation of CNC machines, with a specialty in Haas mills used in manufacturing parts from various grades of metal and plastic. The position follows standard work methods and practices, safe work habits to ensure production is efficient and safe.

• Set up and operate computer‑controlled machines to perform one or more machine functions on metal or plastic work pieces.
• Review program specifications or blueprints to determine and set machine operations and sequencing, finished workpiece dimensions, or numerical control sequences.
• Implement changes to machine programs and enter new specifications, using computers.
• Transfer commands from computer to CNC machine modules using a computer network, jump drives, or via other media.
• Modify cutting programs to account for problems encountered during operation and then save modified programs.
• Monitor machine operations and control panel displays and compare readings to specifications to detect malfunctions.
• Adjust machine feed and speed, change cutting tools, or adjust machine controls when automatic programming is faulty or if machines malfunction.
• Check to ensure that work pieces are properly lubricated and cooled during machine operation.
• Mount, install, align, and secure tools, attachments, fixtures, and work pieces on machines, using hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
• Maintain machines and remove and replace broken or worn machine tools, using hand tools.
• Listen to machines during operation to detect sounds such as those made by dull cutting tools or excessive vibration and adjust machines to compensate for problems.
• Measure dimensions of finished work pieces to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments, templates, and fixtures.
• Stop machines to remove finished work pieces or to change tooling, setup, or workpiece placement, according to required machining sequences.
• Set up future jobs while machines are operating current jobs.
• Clean machines, tooling, or parts, using solvents or solutions and rags.
