PRIMARY FUNCTION
This position is accountable for setting up and operating manual machinery to fabricate parts for efficient and timely production of parts.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES- Sets up and operates manual machines
- Loads parts in machine, cycles machine, detects malfunctions in machine operations such as warn or damaged cutting tools
- Performs typical machine shop operations
- Plans and lays out assigned work applying shop trade knowledge
- Runs production lots and communicates with co-workers regarding production runs
- Responsible for performing inspection of machined parts using scales, micrometers and calipers
- Detects and reports defective materials or parts to management
- Makes necessary tool adjustments and replaces tools as required
- Maintains work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition including removing metal shavings/chips from equipment in a safe manner
- Follows quality requirements to ensure a high level of quality in machined parts
- Follows company policies and procedures
- Supports and/or participates in the organization’s Continuous Improvement Programs
- Proactively participates in Safety Program
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Requirements (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
- Good communication skills, written and verbal
- Excellent knowledge of machining processes and procedures
- Excellent knowledge of mechanical tools and equipment
- Ability to understand basic mathematics
- Knowledge of the use of measuring tools such as scales, micrometers and calipers
- Bilingual (English/Spanish), a plus.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- 2-5 years of relevant work experience
- Standing, bending, sitting, lifting 30-50#, squatting and walking for 8 to 12 hours per day.
- Exposure to Production Environment on a daily basis.

2nd shift start time is 6pm – pay range is $20 - $25/hr depending on experience.
