Skilled - OD​/Grinder

Position Title: OD/

Wage: $20-$24/hour Based on experience

Shift: 1st

Hours: 7:00am-3:30pm Monday-Friday

QPS Employment Group is hiring an OD/ for a company in Houston, TX. This is an associate to hire opportunity.

• Maintain a safe work environment and follow all safety procedures
• Operate and set up NC grinding machines
• Grind parts to precise specifications
• Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Perform basic machine maintenance and keep equipment clean
• Use hand and angle grinders as needed
• Inspect parts using precision measuring tools to ensure quality standards
• Track and communicate quality issues or non-conformances
• Organize tasks and maintain a clean, orderly workspace
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and complete additional duties as assigned

• High school diploma or GED
• Technical degree or certification preferred
• 2+ years of manufacturing experience preferred
• Manufacturing experience or relevant training preferred
• Experience operating grinding or lathe equipment is a plus
• Basic math and mechanical aptitude
• Ability to read blueprints and use measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.)
• Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
• Good communication and problem-solving skills
• Team-oriented with a willingness to learn and grow
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds
• Prolonged standing and walking
• Repetitive lifting, pushing, and pulling
