The candidate will be responsible for turning raw materials into finished products according to technical drawings and specifications. This role will support our manufacturing/production team by ensuring high quality, timely, and safe woodworking output.
Key Responsibilities- Read and interpret fabrication drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Operate woodworking machinery and tools (e.g., table saws, jointers, planers, routers, sanders, CNC-wood-machining if applicable).
- Perform hand-tool and power-tool work (cutting, shaping, joining, finishing) to produce parts and assemblies.
- Assemble panels using fasteners, adhesives, dowels, and other joinery methods.
- Perform sanding, staining, painting, or other finishing work to meet quality standards.
- Assemble panels with finished products consisting of metals, laminates, glass, and porcelain tile.
- Inspect finished components for defects and verify dimensions/tolerances.
- Maintain and calibrate woodworking tools and equipment; follow safety procedures and housekeeping standards.
- Collaborate with design/engineering and production teams to improve processes, materials, and workflows.
- Proven experience (e.g., 2-5 years) as a woodworker/carpenter in a production or fabrication environment.
- Strong knowledge of woodworking tools, machinery, and joinery methods.
- Ability to read blueprints/technical drawings and work to tight tolerances.
- Ability to lift raw materials weighing 50+ lbs utilizing team lifts as necessary.
- Proficient in finishing techniques (sanding, staining, painting) and quality inspection.
- Good hand-eye coordination, physical stamina, attention to detail, and safety awareness.
- Certification or apprenticeship in carpentry or woodworking trade.
- Experience with CNC routing for wood, custom cabinetry, furniture-making or high-end millwork.
- Knowledge of various wood species, finishes, and sustainable wood practices.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or 5S in a woodworking/fabrication shop.
