Responsibilities- Review work order, pull necessary equipment, position workpiece and operate various machines through production runs to form specified quantities to defined tolerances
- Analyze and interpret blueprint, specifications or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces
- Plan machine set‑ups, position workpiece and operate various machines through production runs to form specified quantities of piece parts to specified tolerances
- Deburr parts as needed
- Monitor machine functions to ensure that parts are manufactured to defined specifications
- Perform first‑piece inspections and make necessary adjustments to machine to ensure parts are formed to designated tolerances
- Complete inspection reports as required and repair any defects found and document critical quality information as necessary
- Perform preventative maintenance and ensure machines are operating optimally
- Communicate with managers, production control, quality and other shop personnel for assignments and to resolve quality issues
- Act as subject matter expert and train co‑workers as requested
- Document outstanding issues either written or verbally to ensure smooth transition between shifts
- Cross‑train in other areas of Operations (assembly, shipping and receiving). Develop proficiency in multiple areas to assist in other areas as business needs change
- Maintain a neat and orderly work area complying with all 5S initiatives and advise
- Follow and comply with all safety and personal protective equipment requirements
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Certificate in Machining Technologies or equivalent experience
- Minimum 3 years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment, required
- Ability to read and interpret Blueprints/Technical Drawings
- Ability to perform various machining operations in accordance with part specifications
Anticipated hourly wage: $20/hour – $21/hour depending on level of previous experience.
