1st Shift CNC Machinist II

Schedule:

Monday – Thursday, 5:00 am – 3:30 pm

Responsibilities:

• Work from drawings, sketches, and specifications to complete various machining operations.
• Perform machine setups to achieve close tolerances and proper alignment of machined parts.
• Obtain required inspections on first pieces of a run according to prescribed procedures and perform inspections on work‑in‑progress using a wide variety of measuring devices.
• Maintain all necessary records of time, part counts, first‑piece inspections, requisition forms, etc., for each job.
• Make jigs, fixtures, or other specialized non‑production devices as qualified and assigned.
• Perform first‑piece inspections on basic product for other machinists, as qualified and assigned.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance of machines according to the PM schedule.
• Troubleshoot drawings, machining, tooling, programming, material, etc., and make competent decisions pertaining to the job at hand.
• Utilize Geometric Dimension & Tolerance (GD&T) as called out on print.
• Ensure proper machine setup and accurate interpretation of prints and specifications to prevent damage to material and detect errors with frequent tolerance/quality checks.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Some trade school or on‑the‑job training is required to become proficient in most phases of the job.
• Technical training in shop math and blueprint reading is necessary.
• At least 2 years of experience as a CNC machinist.

Mental, Visual, and Physical Effort:

• Walks, stands, reaches, and bends frequently.
• Periodic lifting of moderate to heavy items may be required.
• Possesses good hand/eye coordination.

Physical Hazards:

• Normal operations require eye protection, steel‑toed footwear, and occasionally hand protection.

Working Conditions:

• Exposure to normal machine shop environment with periodic noise. Limited disagreeable factors present.
