Responsibilities
- Welders must qualify for CS pipe and structure at a minimum. A WPS will be provided upon applying.
- Fitters must be able to work with pipe and structure.
- Must be legally eligible to work and able to travel outside the US; offshore assignments may be required.
- Welders must read and understand the WPS prior to welding (heat, speed, electrical input) and will practice on scrap metal to verify heat before starting on a coupon. The WPS indicates SMAW (stick) root passes.
- For piping work, the test will be 6G.
- Ability to understand work and safety instructions in English.
- Be prepared for variability in weekly hours (approximately 84 hours some weeks and approximately 40 hours other weeks, depending on workload). If workshop load is low, offshore assignments may be scheduled.
90% of candidates fail at the root pass when SMAW is used; ensure you understand this requirement.
