Operator - Production

The Operator works in the Production department and will learn over time multiple areas of responsibility in the Production process. This may include Shredders, Granulators, Bagging, Tower and in the Millrooms.

Starting pay is $18.69 an hour, with an additional $1.44 per hour if quarterly bonuses are met at 100%. Overtime is 1.5 times the wage and a night shift differential pay of $0.75 per hour is paid for hours 7PM – 7AM. Quarterly bonus is based on meeting department goals. Compensation follows a pay ladder based on steps/skills learned.

• After 30 days of employment:
  Uniforms and cleaning provided.
• After the first of the month following 30 days:
  Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage paid 100% by the company.
• After 90 days:
  Eligible for 401k plan with company contribution of up to 3%. Life insurance at 1x annual salary with $50,000 max. Short‑Term and Long‑Term Disability paid 100% by company. PTO accrues bi‑weekly, totaling 15 days in the first year, pro‑rated by start date. Additional life and Critical Injury insurance available at own expense. Prescription safety glasses and protective footwear are reimbursed.

• Operate and understand functionality of shredders, granulators, mills, screening, and vibration machines.
• Understand the production flow of materials.
• Assist with plant changeovers.
• Monitor and adjust equipment to meet product specifications.
• Troubleshoot minor equipment issues to maintain operation.
• Report operating or mechanical faults to supervisor or via company reporting system.
• Maintain equipment and processes in safe, efficient condition.
• Perform regular equipment maintenance procedures to ensure production capacity and quality.
• Conduct quality control checks.
• Operate forklift to move product before and after processing.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area following safety regulations.
• Follow established safety, health, quality procedures and practices.
• Comply with OSHA safety and health rules.

• Communicate clearly in English, both written and verbal.
• Follow company operating procedures, safety rules, and ISO requirements.
• Understand production procedures and processes.
• Read and understand written operating instructions and work order requirements.
• Operate all department equipment safely.
• Operate forklift and hold prior certification.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Process manufacturing background preferred.
• Minimum 2 years experience as an operator in a manufacturing environment.
• Minimum 2 years forklift operation experience.
• Experience with cable truck operation a plus.
• Minimum 2 years experience troubleshooting manufacturing equipment.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proven punctuality and reliability.
• Work authorization required.

The role requires frequent exposure to airborne particles and vibration. The work environment has heat; no A/C environment. Requires lifting, overhead work, standing, climbing stairs, carrying, moving throughout most of the day. Noise level can be loud; PPE must be worn. May require working in confined spaces for short periods.

This is a full‑time position. Overtime and on‑call schedule may be required.

Uniform, protective clothing, safety shoes must be worn. New hires must complete a paid working interview, pre‑hire physical, drug screen, and job placement assessment. Reliable transportation and commuting capability required.

Physical demands include standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing, and repetitive lifting of items over 50 pounds. Vision requirements: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth, focus. Pulmonary fit test required.
