The Painter is responsible for preparing, coating, inspecting, and processing materials and products through finishing operations using liquid paint and/or powder coating systems. This role supports manufacturing operations by ensuring products are properly prepared, coated, handled, and inspected according to quality, safety, and customer requirements. Responsibilities include surface preparation, coating application, equipment operation, material handling, quality inspections, and maintaining production flow within the finishing department.
Job Responsibilities & Requirements- Operate finishing equipment and consistently follow safe work practices and company safety procedures.
- Examine work pieces for defects and measure work pieces using established procedures, gauges, templates, or specifications to ensure conformance to quality requirements.
- Prepare surfaces for coating by cleaning, sanding, blasting, wire brushing, masking, or other approved preparation methods.
- Load, unload, position, align, and secure parts on racks, fixtures, conveyors, or workstations according to established work instructions.
- Apply coatings using approved liquid paint and/or powder coating processes while maintaining quality and productivity standards.
- Monitor parts throughout the finishing process to ensure proper spacing, orientation, coverage, curing, and safe handling.
- Start, operate, and monitor coating equipment and related systems according to established operating procedures.
- Perform visual inspections before, during, and after coating operations to identify defects, contamination, damage, or non-conforming conditions.
- Verify coating (Wet / Powder) appearance, coverage, thickness, and finish quality meet customer, engineering, and production specifications.
- Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, drawings, specifications, and production schedules.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and finishing equipment common to the coating and finishing trade.
- Mark or tag materials using proper job numbers, piece marks, and identifying information as required.
- Detect faulty equipment, tools, or materials and promptly notify supervision of issues affecting safety, quality, or productivity.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, including routine housekeeping of equipment and work areas.
- Follow all safety regulations and utilize required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Package, stage, move, and transport materials and finished products as required.
- Communicate equipment concerns, production interruptions, quality issues, and safety hazards to supervisors or team leads.
- Assist with production, material handling, and manufacturing support activities as needed.
- Plan and coordinate work activities to meet production schedules and quality requirements. Perform other duties as assigned in support of manufacturing operations.
- High School/GED required
- 1-2 Years Related years of experience preferred
- Ability to read blueprints

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization - Time Management:

This is a physical position that requires the individual to be able to: stand, walk and carry up to 50 lbs., push/pull, climb, walk up stairs and crouch. This position requires the individual to be able to communicate through speaking and hearing.
