5-Axis CNC Programmer
Inrock is seeking an experienced 5-Axis CNC Programmer in Houston, TX. This role involves creating precise programs for CNC 5-axis milling machines and lathes, ensuring the highest quality standards in production. The 5-Axis CNC Programmer will collaborate with engineers and machinists to optimize manufacturing processes and improve efficiency.
Responsibilities include developing and implementing CNC programs for 5-axis milling and lathe operations using Mastercam software, helping with the design and implementation of new fixtures for product lines, utilizing CAD/CAM software for programming and simulation of machining operations, conducting setups with machinist on any new programs on the CNC machines, performing quality checks using precision measuring instruments, applying GD&T principles to ensure compliance with design specifications, collaborating with manufacturing manager and quality manager to identify opportunities for lean manufacturing improvements, troubleshooting machining issues and making necessary adjustments to optimize performance, collaborating with machinists, quality, and engineers to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to programming, tooling, and machining processes, validating and verifying CNC programs for accuracy prior to release to the shop floor, and maintaining documentation of programming changes, setups, and process improvements.
Qualifications include proficiency in CNC programming with experience in both CNC 5-axis milling machines and lathes, strong knowledge of CAD/CAM software including Mastercam, Solid Works, Featurecam, and familiarity with lean manufacturing principles, experience with Haas and Fanuc controls, solid understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) practices, mechanical knowledge with the ability to read schematics and blueprints effectively, familiarity with tooling requirements and geometry calculations for various machining operations, excellent math skills for precision measurements and calculations related to machining processes, strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work in a production style environment, and ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
