Master Machinist / Machining Manager
We are a dynamic, fast-paced precision job shop serving the defense, aerospace, nuclear, and oil & gas industries. Our environment is built for growth—with a strong foundation in machining complex parts from hard-to-machine metals using advanced multi-axis equipment. We are looking for a key team member to take a hands-on leadership role as we continue to scale.
We're seeking a Master Machinist / Machining Manager to lead our machining operations. This role blends leadership and mentorship with hands-on technical work. You'll manage a talented team of machinists, streamline operations, improve product flow, and help drive our strategic growth. You'll also play a critical role in developing the next generation of machinists and helping shape the direction of our shop.
- Lead and manage day-to-day machining operations across various machines (Swiss, lathes, multi-axis mills, etc.).
- Mentor and develop machinists of all skill levels, fostering a culture of quality, precision, and continuous improvement.
- Optimize workflow and product movement through the shop to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
- Jump in hands-on when needed—operate machines, troubleshoot setups, and assist with complex jobs.
- Ensure proper setup, programming oversight, and quality control for precision machining projects.
- Collaborate with leadership to support production goals, quality standards, and customer requirements.
- Contribute to hiring, training, and retaining skilled machinists.
- Support the growth of the business by recommending improvements in tooling, processes, and equipment.
- Maintain high safety and quality standards across the team and facility.
- 10+ years of machining experience with increasing responsibility.
- Strong background with complex materials (e.g., Inconel, titanium, stainless steel).
- Experience with Swiss machines, multi-axis CNC mills, and lathes required.
- Prior leadership or shop management experience preferred.
- Strong blueprint reading and GD&T skills.
- Proficient in machining process optimization and problem-solving.
- Comfortable working in a job shop environment with high mix / low to medium volume production.
- Ability to manage, motivate, and mentor team members.
- Hands-on, lead-by-example mindset.
- Competitive base salary starting at $75,000+, commensurate with experience

Compensation: $75,000.00 - $ per year
